The floral patterns known for the Baltic Sea region also found their recognition value on various originals of this noble work of Nordic expression. The pendant is a real unique piece, but it is not much like the usual jewels of the Northern Empire, although it is undoubtedly part of the jewellery family of Germania.
Definition: According to legends, the Hiddensee cross was rather worn by women, therefore probably also the more feminine-inspired mood when looking at the amulet. Hiddensee jewelry, however, is in contrast to the "usual" Baltic Sea jewelry outside the rule. The Hiddensee hammer is lush and brutal, whereas the cross described here indicates its direction in new forms. Perhaps this cross was rather a step forward compared to all the other products of that time?
